The Former Minnesota police officer Kim Potter – who shot and killed Black motorist Daunte Wright – sobbed as she testified this past Friday about the moment she accidentally reached her handgun instead of her taser.
The girlfriend of Daunte Wright, Alayna Albrecht-Payton, gave an emotional testimony on Thursday after she witnessed him being fatally shot by a former Minnesota police officer Kim Potter back in April.
“He was loved. He was ours. He came from us,” Naisha Wright said of her slain nephew, Daunte Wright.
“I just want my baby home,” Katie Wright, Daunte Wright’s grieving mother said in a new interview.
“People at his school knew that he planned to take his own life,” Camika Shelby said of her gay teenage son who committed suicide.
“Simply put, we failed Adam,” Mayor Lori Lightfoot said ahead of the release of police bodycam footage of an officer-involved shooting that left 13-year-old Adam Toledo dead.
