UPDATE: After it was revealed that Riley Strain’s remains were discovered without his cowboy boots, pants, and wallet, his family is ordering a second private autopsy.
Strain’s family hopes the second autopsy will reveal different answers. A spokesperson for the family, Chris Dingman, told NewsNation that because Riley was wearing all those items the night he went missing, the family believes his manner of death was more than accidental, like the first autopsy suggested.
Shortly after Riley Strain’s body was found following a weeks long search, his mom, Michelle Whiteid, spoke out. In a heartbreaking plea to other mothers, Whiteid made a request.
“I just ask that you mommas out there, hug your babies tight tonight please,” she said in the press conference. “Please for me, just hug your babies tight tonight. And again, thank you, thank you for sharing our story.”
Further reports also revealed that the preliminary autopsy in Riley Strain’s death investigation is completed. According to WKRN News 2, following the completion of the preliminary autopsy, Strain’s death continues to appear “accidental with no foul play suspected.”
The preliminary autopsy results come two days after the search for Riley Strain came to a devastating end on March 22.
According to CNN and several other reports, Strain’s body was discovered and recovered from the Cumberland River in Nashville, Tennessee.
As earlier reports revealed, Strain went missing during a weekend trip to Nashville after he was “kicked out” of Luke Bryan’s 32 Bridge bar on March 8. His family hadn’t heard from his since.
RIley Strain’s body was discovered eight miles from downtown Nashville.
Police with direct knowledge of the situation took to X to share that “no foul play-related trauma was observed” after located Strain’s remains. “An autopsy is pending.”
