Separated Twin Sisters Adopted from China Are Happily Reunited After 10 Years Apart, and They Are Shockingly Similar

Gracie Rainsberry and Audrey Doering: Separated Chinese Twins Reunited in United States

Twin sisters who were separated at birth were adopted from China by two different American families. Despite not knowing each other for the first decade of their lives, they are “astonishingly similar.” The twins now spend time together several times a year and even go to summer camp with one another.

Twins, Gracie Rainsberry and Audrey Doering grew up 1,500 miles apart in the United States. They were reunited in 2017 after a chance finding of an adoption photo advertisement published in China. The twins and their story are a miracle.

While Gracie was living with her family in Washington, Audrey Doering was enjoying life with her family in Wausau, Wisconsin.

The adopted families had no idea Grace or Audrey had a twin. It wasn’t until a discovery when they were ten-years-old, that their lives changed forever.

Everything was completely normal until Audrey’s mom, Jennifer stumbled across a “finding photo.” The photo was taken from a Chinese orphanage and was posted as an advertisement to find the twins’ parents. Audrey recognized that the photo had actually come from the orphanage her daughter was adopted from and that the babies in the picture looked strikingly similar to her daughter.

After doing more research, Jennifer found Gracie’s family in hopes of reuniting the twin sisters.

Gracie and Audrey were reunited on Good Morning America, after being separated for over ten years.

As you can see in the video, it was an emotional reunion for the two sisters and their families. If this doesn’t warm your heart, nothing will.

Although the sisters grew up apart, they share many striking similarities. For a start, they are nearly identical and both even wear glasses. In addition to appearance, the twins also share a love of mac and cheese and chicken alfredo. They also bonded quickly and love spending time with each other.

Audrey told the Mirror, “I just love being together with her. When we’re not together I miss her a lot. We speak or text every day. We have this connection, it’s like she’s part of me. The only way we’re different is I dress up more than Gracie. I like wearing girly clothes and she wears more sporty clothes.”

Although they have separate families, the twins stay in contact.

The twins love video chatting and keeping in touch.

Gracie had this to say about her sister: “I’m not sure how to explain it. Getting to have her is like having another part of me. Whenever we talk and get together, I just feel a connection. I can talk to her about a lot of things and I know she will help me through it, and I feel I can do the same for her.”

This is a truly remarkable story! We’re so happy that Gracie and Audrey found each other and we hope their bond continues to grow the more time they spend with each other. Bravo to the adopted families for taking a chance and for reuniting their children.
